Living Room Lusting

In general my favourite room of the house is my bedroom, however the living room (or the lounge as we call it) makes a very close second. It's generally the first room that guests see and it's where we spend most of our time.

We finally have our dream corner sofa sorted which is not only as comfortable as a bed, it can fit our small army- plus guests on. We only need to make a further few changes and it will be our little haven. One that's up for much debate is the furniture and I'm being particularly awkward on it as it has to match our vintage solid pine unit. It's a prize possession of mine, along with a couple of other pieces in the house as I have an emotional connection to them.

The TV unit is the key annoyance, it sits in the corner of the room and as it's a rectangular unit it has a load of unused space at the back gathering dust among the endless wires. Don't get me wrong, it's lovely and looks tidy- but it's not matchy-matchy with the room.

With the walls a nice grey - no grey is the same. The room is airy and has a nice zen feel to it, particularly when I get my Friday flowers from the husband

The shelving picture rails are starting to gather our favourite bits and the floor will eventually be replaced to match the hallway. The curtains still haven't been replaced since we took them down to paint and the main reason is I find they gather dust more than get use. So I'm on the lookout for some nice blinds, that aren't a "boring & dull" grey that darken.

Pinterest has a lot to answer for as every image I am lusting over tends to contain a variety of the furniture I have my eye on and none resemble pine!

There is one collection that is featured on the Quercus Living  website that I really like and that's the Elverum Sheesham Walnut finish collection. This TV unit  and the matching sideboard is pretty lush  and has especially caught my eye.

Some living room ideas that I am lusting after on Pinterest are

Perfect for the 'Greenery' trend - lime sofa, dark green walls, botanical prints and plenty of plants!
