Next Blogger Networking Event; #NBNworkshop

So Monday's event arrived and so did St Jude, which of course meant the trains went down! However a day of escaping half term fun for one day, chatting with new people, yummy food and drink was not something that I was going to happily miss. Hell no. So I drove and tubed it to the Hoxton Hotel where I met yummy mummy Natalie from Glam Rosie.

So what was this event? Well in simple terms it was a event that Next invited a handful of the thousands of bloggers that are associated with their own blog network.

Whilst there we heard some great advice from some established bloggers whether that be fashion, beauty or geeky. Was it worth it? Yes! I took away a great deal from it and there is already so much that I want to change on the geeky side of things so if my blogs go quiet it's because I am staring into a oblivion of codes while the kids take over the house with dens!

Want some pics? Silly question. I didn't get anywhere near as many as I hoped too as I was chatting too much but here is a snippet!

My first and favourite talk from Abigail (The Apartment) and Emily (Fashion Foie Gras). I took a lot of insight away from these girls.

The beauty girls were up next and spoke on photography.....Kit (Style Slicker), Lily (Lilly Pebbles) and Anna (Vivianna Does Makeup) Lovely chatty girls! I'm not a big beauty blogger but these were fun to listen too!

Listening to the SEO talk made me realise just how much I need to change behind what you read here! ie the new header of the blog for starters! Eeek

The Hoxton Hotel's seriously rocking floors.

Oh and it wouldn't be right for me not to show what I wore!! Since you asked Next Faux Leather PU top, Next necklace, Topshop skirt, boots and bag.

Yummy food was laid on for us all..... plus a endless supply of tea!

Yes the above did taste as good as they look!

Christmas for the boy is sorted with the adorable prints...

not forgetting the girls and the adorable tartan tutu!!

I know, I know another coat....But like I've said before it is winter and we live in coats, it's the first thing that most people see for months to come.

Oh and it felt as good as it looked on! The review online doesn't do this justice at all. I found the sizing great for me... this is a size 10 Check Biker Coat....

Another absolute gem the black loopy cardigan! I need this like a hole in the head but.... there's a but....it's beautiful!

Quick pose with Glam Rosie and Bella la Moda

Yes more sweet tooth fancies. Heaven.

A quick non alcoholic cocktail for myself and Natalie before we headed home!

.....and home to snuggle in my new socks and smell my new candle.

Thankyou Next!

Pah.

This is an appropriate title for pretty much how my mood is summed up right about now. Pah. Even the title is effortless and trust me it's not the effortless style approach I am going for here... this is the I need a slap variety effortless. Why is it us women go through the throes of not feeling all that and shopping doesn't lift that mood either?

I have a wardrobe full of lovely clothes (minus my fave jeans... who loses jeans!?) and yet when I wear it I feel drab and struggle to put a outfit together out of anything! What can I blame it on... The weather would be an appropriate British choice... Tiredness? No I've literally exhausted that already so that's just taking the biscuit OR could it be that I am just normal?

Yep that's it, much easier to go with that choice! I'm normal. All us lovely ladies have this stage at some point in the year and this is mine, but what with the Next Blogger Event fast approaching this Monday I will give myself a slap and sort myself out an outfit. Yes the wardrobe that I can't put together a outfit. <Slaps the pessimism out of myself>

What's the chance of me turning up looking just the same as someone else? Probably quite likely knowing my luck, especially when I love this beauty of a shirt and it's sold out. Plan B commences....

Anyhow couple of posts of my last weekends outfits...

Letting the print do the work with my Topshop playsuit on the first evening out and keeping things simple with a Topshop Lace Tunic and Faux Leather from Next on the second night. Simples.

Scarlette's Birthday Wishlist!

With my eldest daughter's birthday fast approaching I have asked her of her to suggest pressies that she may like. She's most definitely growing up as toys don't really feature and her own style of clothes is really starting to show through. She would be one very happy bunny if she was to receive these.... sadly our budget doesn't stretch to all of this! It would appear that she really is a Mummy's girl after all and loves clothes just as much as me!

1) A coat like Mummy... Next Black and White Mix Jacket £38
2) Printed Tea Dress from Mini Boden £27.20 in the sale!
2) Boots like Mummy... the choice of colour is her own... quite bright! Dr Martens Patent Pink £55
4) Leggings like Mummy River Island £12
5) A 'cool' grown up bag! River Island £20

Daily Checks and Boots

I've been pretty slack on the daily outfits recently and that's mostly because 1) I feel a bit of a idiot standing on doorstep with a moody 7yr old trying to take a photo of me that's half decent and 2) because I've been lazy. Today I met a friend for lunch and she was running late so I killed some time in Topshop, mooching over the mid season sale that's just started. Nothing for me but if you are after some jeans or basic vests for next year check them out. Anyway that is how I have taken a piccy of today's outfit....

I love print and these past season Topshop trousers are pretty comfy, Primark do some similar at about half the price of Topshop. My oversized fluffy jumper is Primark £8, boots Topshop Ample old season but similar below and coat is Topshop too again link below. Oh and I have new hair thanks to Kelly at Steve Hilliard in Ampthill, well worth a visit and that's coming from someone who is fussy with haircuts!

For some checked inspiration check out Topshop, Next  and New Look. I particulary like the set ups below...

A weekend up North!

If there was one thing I really needed recently it was a weekend away with my husband and with his birthday and us being together for 9 years now was perfect timing! Dropping the children to school and shooting straight ooop north to Harrogate was heaven... Of course we put childcare in place!

A browse around shops, afternoon tea, chilling, cocktails and then a meal out and a lovely hotel to escape too made for a perfect day and evening. The day after we checked out and headed to my sister on the verge of Sheffield and thanks to her poor direction we got a good walk in to burn some calories!

Sunday we took advantage of our National Trust membership again and whisked the kiddies off to Hughenden for another 1940s weekend, Wimpole Estate not long ago had one and the children (and I) enjoyed it. Although Hughenden is a lot smaller it didn't disappoint, all in all a busy weekend!

The Balmoral Hotel was a great treat that I found on Secret Escapes, the staff and food were brilliant! We would really recommend it, the location was perfect too!

Off for a meal out in my amazing neon green lace Topshop skirt (last season), Teddy Topshop Pea Coat and a great faux leather top from Next. (also looks great with the above jeans!)

The bag you may have spied in the pic above was a present from the husband! Topshop of course and it is amazing, I love it!

Cocktails were 2-4-1 it seemed rude to resist!
Topshop necklace!

The man himself in a brilliant restaurant called BED, if you are in Harrogate you have to try this place! As soon as we entered this place we sat with our drinks and chose from the menu, when our table was ready we were whisked upstairs and presented with our starters. Faultless. Very impressed.

The below pics are from our walk in the Peak District!

Then below pics we have the 40's weekend.... Believe it or not I didn't mean to co-ordinate our outfits quite so much!
The girls are in Next again appears sold out but similar found here!
My shirt is Topshop although my Heart Print version sold out you can find similar colours online! here...
