Everyday Outfits

Today's blog is in the form of some outfit inspiration from the high street, most are like items I and most of you perhaps already own or if not item's that are on my wish list at least!

First up is Matalan and this whole outfit minus the Converse comes in at £87, which just goes to show just how reasonable Matalan can be. Some overlook or don't even think of popping in this store but it's worth a vistit. They do great bits for kids too!

Camisole £8
Leggings £12
Denim Shirt £12
Tote £20
Parka £35
Matalan Parka

Next up my fave store of all time, the store in which I have a unhealthy obsession with... Topshop. Again there is nothing I don't love about this look and it's fail safe. The boots are pricey but there are some similar and plenty others around too. They will go with anything and everything.

Jamie Jeans £40
Grey Texture Coat £78
Blue Knit Jumper £38
Bertie for Topshop Boots £115

Topshop comfort and style

Third in line is River Island I really love this look below, the top is a great price and the checked jacket and the gold detailing to the boots and sunglasses makes the outfit really pop. Just love...

Jacket £65
Chelsea Boots £64.95
Amelie Skinny Jeans £30
Leather Look T-shirt £25
Sunnies £13

River Island Checks and Leather

Last up for today is Next yes I know it's another jumper but we are talking a/w now and a good jumper really is a must have for the season. I like the faux leather leggings, they're a nice change from jeans or cotton leggings and worn with trainers like Converse you don't run the risk of being to dressed up for the day.
Converse £53

Next faux leather and wool

So there we have it a little bit of inspiration, what do you think?

**Steal Her Style** January Jones dressed down Mummy

I will never bore of jeans, especially ripped up jeans. Easy to dress up or down and you don't need to look far for inspiration. Our climate here in the UK may not be quite so warm so layer up with a oversize jacket. Shoe wise the world is your oyster, most mums on the run want flats so work this look with Converse or patent brogues, the Clarks pair are to die for. The patent loafers I have from Next found in this blog here would look great too, or even some chunky ankle boots or Dr Martens if you are brave enough to take it a bit more into the grunge style.

Here's how to steal January's look on the high street.

  • Boyfriend Cardigan £16 from Next
  • Ripped Black Skinny Jean £22.99 from New Look
  • Patent wine brogues £54.99 from Clarks
  • Black Tote Bag £20 from ASOS
  • Sunglasses £12 from ASOS

For more options on the jeans try some of these, including the Topshop MOM jean which I am in love with right now.

Winter Woolies

After coats and boots the general next thought for a winter wardrobe is a wooly warmer, a jumper. Next thoughts if you are anything like me is the price. Much like the coats a/w13 jumpers are about making a statement, things are moving on from basic colours, nothing is wrong with a basic colour I should add! It's just about having more fun. Think prints, patterns, different stitch styles, colours and embellishments. Any of the below is going to jazz up any jean going. Lookout for polo necks too, they're making a comeback!

Both above Next £16

As always lookout for me on instagram, more often than not you'll find daily outfit posts as well as my latest cravings!

Coats are back and they're not boring!

You can't deny the need for a jacket now surely? Unless you're reading this from sunnier climates of course! This a/w the coats are bigger and bolder, which considering we spend so much time hidden under them it's a good thing in my books. I still have my eye on beautiful powder pink and a powder blue options but right now my mango herringbone and this red wool coat will do.

**In case you missed the blurb on the red coat last year its 100% wool and cost me the grand total of £7.99 from keech hospices charity shop!**

What else has been happening? My glasses arrived! No more strained eyes. Thanks Specsavers

A catch up.. is this Autumn?

So the children have returned to school, the sun has gone into hiding, the Fashion Weeks are kicking off and my coat has come out..... is this Autumn? I've been a tad slow on the blogging front but now routine resumes in the household my blogger hat is back on and what a exciting way to start that with receiving a Next Blogger Networking Event invite. Can't wait!

I have to say I am kind of excited about getting my new wardrobe in motion, I am over sweating it out in maxis now. If I had a pool at home things would be different but alas this is not the case. So today my Mango herringbone jacket has come out to play! I searched the earth for this fine staple item and I finally found this one new with tags on eBay at the height of our heatwave. Whoop for my forward thinking!

My shoes are just adorable and remind me of Micheal Jackson so I they are even cooler in my eyes. They are from Next and I am ready to bust these bad boy tassel beauty's all over town.... (school run...)

The jeans.... oh the jeans. My husband looked at me in 80's comeback horror (no taste) when I showed him these but ladies let me tell you now, if you are a bit too much aware of a mum tum situation then these are for you! Yes I get that these are aimed for the crop top regalia look but frankly I don't too many crop tops these days, but I do like a tuck! Where are they from I hear you ask? Topshop (naturally) and they are the MOM style priced at £40. The name is kind of apt for me... Think cheaper Levi's..

The top is a nice lightweight knit from Topshop, this is a car boot find at 20p (I kid you not) but you will find styles like this all over the high street at the A/W collections are hitting the rails. The Next one I tried on below is a very nice option..

Then we have the bag. Bags this A/W are structured, ladylike and have those hard handles that can dig into your shoulder if big enough to get your arm through. Patent is also going to be big. I'm not brave enough for a patent skirt (yet) so this bag is a compromise. It was also a French Connection bargain from Boots! Not only because a) it was a gift but b) its was filled with very lovely French Connection smelly's, so thankyou Boots and thankyou Dad!

I took a quick nosy around the local Next and this A/W things are looking good, here's a quick wishlist!

The skirt below is meant to be the Black way around but I loved it inside out! Mad I know but cut away the labels and well.... sorted!

Skirt as above the correct way around! Jumper £32

The picture does no justice.... Skirt £22 the jumper I can't find online but I think it was £32, comes in many colours and great length for with leggings! Remember this is tucked in...see pic of my outfit below with it hanging on the side.

Last two want's on my wishlist...a kilt and lace up heeled boots (or witches boots as the hubby says!)...
as always you can find me on instagram!
