Mango Spring Summer Season wants....

We waved goodbye to Devon yesterday and set off for Cornwall. The sun has been shining, the skies are blue and we are now in relaxation mode.

Last night l sat and caught up on my fave magazines and included within my Marie Claire is a MANGO supplement. Right now they have some brilliant pieces that are on my ever growing list, each page something caught my eye.

As for today I'm blogging from the beach, blowing away cobwebs and watching the children dig. Soon we are off for a Easter Sunday carvery by a log fire.

Topshop Camouflage T-shirt and Zara Spring Quilted Sweater

Crazy few days right now. A mismatch of items today but who cares... ;)

H&M coat
Topshop jeans
Topshop top
Converse
Primark scarf
Topshop socks

I'm a happy girl to be reunited with my engagement ring which is now sparkling and like new.

However its not great to be mooching in shops as there is too much I would like. Was sad to find the blue jumper that I loved in Zara gone,  but this quilted one was beautiful. By the time I decided to go for it I was late to collect baby boy and had to rush off!

Tkmaxx had some great high tops,  paticularly liked the Black!

River Island had a lovely Chelsea Girl jacket...

But for now I should get on with packing, it's proving difficult.

Liz Earle Tinted Moisturiser Review

A few people had questioned me on whether I've used tinted moisturisers after my last foundation blog here and the answer is yes I have.

No7 and Laura Mercier among a few but most recently Liz Earle.

What do I think? I like it a lot. Whilst it's not quite enough cover for a night out and it doesn't photo as well it's great for a everyday lightweight wear.  It covers my obvious blemishes and shadows well considering we are not discussing a foundation.

My skin is normal to dry and it moisturises well without causing to much greasiness. I don't have to touch up with powder any more with this than anything else I've worn if at all.

It's very easy to apply as it's literally just like a cream! I've decided to try and wear this daily
for now as my poor skin is freaking out at anything to heavy so going back to this should give my skin some time to breathe.

Would I recommend?  Yes I certainly would.

First thing this morning... 7am. As in previous blog no concealer and only my bronzer and blush.

And then early eve 5.30. No touch ups!
Different lighting slightly but it's the same day! I just got cold!

Oversized Topshop jumper, boyfriend jeans and lilac jeans

Giving a drab winter-should be spring day- a bit of colour. Having a bad hair day today hence my head being cropped out!

The jumper is so soft and so comfortable I wore it two days running. The first being a superllazy Sunday.

Monochrome- Next Netted Midi Skirt, Zara Sequins and Love

A rare night out for a mum and dad is a special thing. Especially so when you have the children cared for all night so no early wake up call. For us it was last night.

There's also something special about sharing someone's wedding memories. It's 7 years for us this year and we often reminisce of the fun we and others had when we are sharing someone else's day.

Normally I forget to sign the guest book but not last night, a few wines in me and I turned into the Oracle.

"You will have some very testing times ahead but remember that you have one another,  that's what will get you through.
Remember to say sorry and don't go to bed on a argument.
Enjoy and have a beautiful happy marriage"
A brilliant night with lots of laughs and the best bit is we are not hungover.

Foundation review.. Rimmel, Dior, MAC and more

Foundations can be such a personal choice and if you are anything like me you can sometimes feel intimidated to purchase when the beauty sales assistant grabs the mirror and asks you what you think. I used to go along with it and ended up with many foundations used perhaps only once or twice. These days I am more savvy and will ask for a tester to see how I can get on with it myself at home first. I've saved myself a small fortune I'm sure.

Foundations probably cause me most stress in my make up kit than any other item. I wish that I could be the kind of girl that didn't need foundation or even felt confident enough to wear none. However my patchy skin tone and under eye bags that seem to never budge mean that I like to wear foundation every day.

The one foundation that I really loved was a Laura Mercier Silk Creme that I had when I got married 7 years ago. However I soon got bored and discovered MAC Studio Sculpt foundation but after a few years I got fed up of the heavy feel it left me with although I still can't find anything that comes close,  which left me with the dilemma of what next.

I tried MAC Studio Tech compact which was brilliant but it just ran out way to quick and the Pro Longwear and Fix Fluid just didn't feel right on my skin. I also tried Clinique Even Better which gives a great finish although I'm all out so I've not included it in this write up. I'm still yet to find a foundation that is everything I want but a few have come close.

Since getting savvy I've ended up with lots of testers and I never can decide. So I set myself the task of documenting what I liked and didn't like as I seem to constantly forget which looks best. Lets face it the cost of some of these foundations are not exactly cheap and I find reading reviews before heading to the shop is becoming a more common occurence.

So whats my routine? I cleanse with No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser and moisturise with any spaceNK product I am lusting over or good old Nivea blue tub. My skin can get congested or dry patches and I try to remember to do a exfoliate but I can be my worst enemy for this. I tend to use whatever Primer I have knocking around, more often than not its Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.

I use my MAC brush number 187 a duo fibre brush to apply my foundation.
I will sometimes suffer with shine later in the day and I use Hello Flawless from Benefit, I highly rate this powder and the cover it gives.

*In the following photo's I've not applied concealer so I could test the coverage throughout the day and I have only touched up with my Benefit Powder when needed to combat shine, my bourjois bronzer and my NARS orgasm blusher.*

Dior Nude- Application of this is lovely, it felt creamy, lightweight and everything a product named Nude should feel like.  I would say the coverage is fair to medium. You can build it up but l then found l was having to use alot of product. Although the cover started ok it stuck to my dry areas as the day went on however l only needed the minimum touch up for shine.

Mac Studio Sculpt- Still a favourite of mine. I only have to touch up once with this later on in the day you combat my normal shine. It covers very well and I get no patches. However a few hours in you do get a heavy feel and thats down to the hell based formula. Great cover and the extensive colour range means I can match well. Great for a night out.

No7 Stay Perfect- One of the cheapest and it does the job well. It goes on well and covers well too. My only concern is that whilst I don't have to use my powder to stop shine, I do for keeping the cover. It tends to wear off after a few hrs, when my skin is suffering with its dry patches it can be prone to sticking. This is not as long lasting as MAC.

Clarins Skin Illusion - Like I've mentioned already I've used some skin products but never the make up so this one is totally looked at with fresh eyes. The application was lovely and it blended well. Throughout the day it only needed one touch up on shine and the cover lasted well. Not as well as the MAC but it held its own, so a good contender for a daily foundation.

Lancome- Now I used to love Lancome in particular the Maquimatte range that they used to do, so I had high hopes. Whilst the application was ok sadly for me this just didnt work well. The cover shifted over the hours, and almost yellowed on me, even with a top up of powder. So this just doesn't suit my skin well at all.

Rimmel Match Perfection- Cheapest of them all and it holds itself well. The cover is good and whilst it applies quite creamy it blends well. Like the others it needs touching up with powder. It doesn't stick to dry areas too badly but after a long day it can look a bit shabby just like any of the others. Overall for the price its a good option.
