Rubarb, Scarves, Spots and Stars.

I am sure you are wondering what the heck I am talking about. Well let me tell you, we will start with Rubarb and no I have not spelt it wrong.

Rubarb is a gorgeous boutique store in the quaint town of Hitchin Hertfordshire that I came across via a shared post on Facebook. Unbelievably they have been open coming up 7 years on my doorstep without me even knowing about this little piece of shopping heaven. Just one glance of the scarfs that they have in store on my screen, I knew that I had to drop in and I am glad that I did.

You can't miss the store with its standout chocolate and hot pink shopfront demanding your attention from your first look. It is clear that every care possible has been taken by Pooji in selecting stock for her adorable treasure trove with bang on trend items. Whats more its quirky, I love quirky.

Too many items were screaming to be tried on and purchased in the limited time that I had. A return visit is most definitely on the cards. Here is just a selection of my favourite pieces.

These shirt dresses (above and below) had me drooling. The prints are beautiful and being a longer style cut its flattering for those who want to wear leggings without their bum being the main feature on show. Perfect dressed up or down...

Another trend to watch for is bright blue I already own a few items but I am now hankering after a few more. Its such a great colour to wear and adds a instant uplift to any outfit.

Blue and Birds? Perfect.

Not to be content on outfits the bright accessories on offer don't go unnoticed. The yellow one needs a new owner and it hurt me to walk away. Such perfect t-shirt and denim dressing up material.

If layers are more your cup of tea then you are well catered for here too. Matched with a lovely new scarf, vests and skinny jeans you are instantly set up and warm at the same time, a look that you can wear right now in the chillier weather. As it heats up drop the layers underneath.

Talking of scarves I love them and I am never far without one.

A instant way to complete any outfit or even a lazy way of making it look like you spent more time on your look. The only problem I faced on my visit was choice, £10 a scarf isn't to be sniffed at. But with so much choice on offer its hard to choose and these below were only a snippet!

Blue won of course. Although I have been dreaming about the stars print so I think its meant to be? Oh and the green spots...Damn this could be trouble.

If you are reading this and you are thinking "well this is pointless!" then fear not, I have reason to share this with you further afield folk. The website that Rubarb have patiently waited for is being built as I type, with the aim of being live April/May. So that alone is reason enough to pop over to the Rubarb's Twitter and Facebook. Keep you eyes peeled for any new developments. Not only that the more page likes reached on Facebook the more  you may spy offers up for grabs. You never know you may find a beautiful bargain!
